Thelma Lucille McNair Calvert

Thelma Lucille McNair Calvert, 92, of Albright, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 15, 2026, while surrounded by the love and comfort of her family at her daughter’s home in Morgantown.
Born on March 26, 1934, in Preston County, WV, Thelma was a cherished daughter of the late John Chester and Orpha Vern Martin McNair. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations.
Above all else, Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and unconditional love. She found joy in caring for her family through the simple but meaningful acts of cooking, cleaning, shopping for those she loved, and making everyone feel welcome at her table. Her family will forever remember her nurturing spirit, steady presence, and the comfort only she could provide.
Thelma’s faith was the foundation of her life. A faithful member of the Albright Methodist Church, she dedicated countless hours to her church family and community. She was active in the women’s club and women’s group, where she especially enjoyed preparing meals and helping with church dinners. Whether through a kind word, a warm meal, or quiet acts of service, Thelma lived her faith daily and touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her four children: Robert Calvert, Jr. and wife Darla, Steve Calvert and wife Mary, Katherine Lutman, and Sharon Calvert, all of Morgantown; 10 beloved grandchildren: Kelley (Frank), Shelley, Byron, Alena, Alivia, Ian, Anthony, Steven, Sofia, and Donovan; two precious great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Paxton; along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert D. Calvert; her brothers, Howard McNair, Glennis McNair, and Carolos McNair; her sister, Maxine Wotring; two cherished grandchildren, P.J. Bishop and Karina Calvert; and her son-in-law, Mike Lutman.
Thelma’s gentle heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family will never be forgotten. Her life was a beautiful example of kindness, devotion, and grace, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m., with Reverend Joe Lamm officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
