As part of Tuesday’s primary election, voters in Granville and Star City made their selections for mayor, recorder and city council, while Westover weighed in on city council’s three ward seats. All results are unofficial until certified through canvassing.
Granville
Mayor Patty Lewis and Recorder Mary Beth Renner were both reelected in uncontested races with 97 and 87 votes, respectively.
The top five vote-getters for city council were incumbents Nicky Boyers (74), Patty Forbes (74) and Bobbie Jo Wolfe (60), and newcomers Matthew McIe (58) and Charlie Cavalier (52).
Logan Thornsley received 49 votes and incumbents David Bean and Ron Clark picked up 46 and 34 votes, respectively, in unsuccessful council bids.
Star City
Unchallenged incumbents Sharon Doyle and Steve Blinco were reelected to the positions of mayor and recorder in Star City. Doyle received 178 votes. Blinco received 183 votes.
The top five vote-getters for city council were incumbents Jennifer Hunt (137), Andy Laskody (135), Gregory Epps (126) and Jim Morris (111), as well as newcomer Jeff Quinn (112)
Mateo Martinez garnered 106 votes in his bid for city council.
Westover
In Westover, there were three ward seats on the ballot and three incumbents running to retain them.
Charles “Alli” Jackson was reelected in Ward 1 with 141 votes.
Jeff Friend picked up 161 votes to retain his Ward 2 seat.
Shawna Cross received 139 votes to remain the Ward 3 representative.
