Eileen V. Hensell, 81, of Morgantown, passed Saturday, April 25, 2026, in her home. The daughter of the late William J. Uphold and Amanda J. Burch, she was born June 11, 1944, in Pisgah.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 63 years, James L. Hensell; her daughter, Diane Hensell Cale; and son, James R. D. Hensell; her granddaughters, Emily Cale (Ragjeen Davidson), Sarah Cale Doughty (Joe), and Rebecca Hensell Quiroz (Henry); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Brown, Ace Davidson, and Henry R. Quiroz V. Also surviving are her sister, Judy Matthews (Foster); sister-in-law, Florence Uphold; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jim Bonidie; and many loving nieces and nephews, whom she treated like her own.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Izetta Jeffries; and brothers, Blaine and Larry Uphold.
Eileen was a children’s clothing buyer for O.J. Morrison’s Department Store in the early 1980s and was given the opportunity to travel to New York City (World Trade Center) twice a year to choose the clothing for the department. She was good at it, and her boss noticed. And, her family was proud of her.
Eileen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers, baking, and collecting tea pots. She was very loved and will be truly missed. The world will be a different place without her.
