John R. Townsend, Jr.

John R. “Too Tall” Townsend, Jr., 65, of Morgantown, died Friday, May 1, 2026, in Morgantown. He was a son of the late Terry Lee (Michael) Townsend Lash and John Robert Townsend, Sr.
John worked in construction and home repair as a self-employed painter, and also in the maintenance department of West Virginia University.
Survivors include three children; a brother, William Townsend of Morgantown; and others.
There will be no public services. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion.
