Willard Joseph McMillen

Willard Joseph “Bob” McMillen, also known as “Bobby Joe” to many, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, in his home in Westover, at the age of 81.
Bob was born April 24, 1944 in Morgantown, a son of the late James and Lillian Uphold McMillen.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Stevens McMillen; four sons, James Robert McMillen of Westover, Patrick Willard McMillen (Crystal) of Morgantown, Michael Aaron McMillen of Westover, and Christopher Allen McMillen (Amy) of Morgantown; along with eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and a sister, Madonna Dillsworth of Kingwood.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Dale, William, Harry, Chuck, Roger, Jim, Don, Alice, and Mary.
Bob worked many years in maintenance at the former Mylan Pharmaceuticals and as a janitor at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He enjoyed being outdoors, watching old Westerns, listening to country music and oldies, and on Sundays watching his favorite TV show, Wings of Faith.
Bob would help anyone who needed him, and never knew a stranger.
More than anything, he was a very proud grandfather who loved and adored his grandchildren. His face would light up a room whenever his grandbabies walked in.
Friends may join the family to honor Bob’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Avenue, Westover, (304) 292-9494, Wednesday, April 8, from 4 until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m., officiated by Pastor Brian Kiehl of New Beginnings Church.
