Robert Franklin Stewart

Robert Franklin Stewart, 68, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Morgantown. He was born April 22, 1957, in Morgantown, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a deep love for the people and places that meant the most to him.
He was the beloved husband of Laina Rogers Stewart, and their life together was built on love, companionship, and shared memories that will be treasured always.
He was the son of the late William Richard Stewart and the late Betty Jean Hawkins Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Stewart; and sister, Shirley Nicholson.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Stewart and Judy; his sister, Barbara Stillwagon and Jack; his brother, Dan Stewart; his sister, Diana Buck and Bill; his sister-in-law, Beverly Stewart; his brother-in-law Rick Nicholson; his mother-in- law and father-in-law, Dianne and Jim Rogers; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Baylee, who was a cherished part of his daily life.
Robert spent many years working at Mylan Pharmaceuticals in the Packaging Department, where he was respected for his steady work ethic and dependable nature. He took pride in doing his job well and was known by those around him as a kind and considerate man. His presence brought comfort and familiarity to those who knew him, and he carried himself with quiet strength and sincerity throughout his life.
Outside of work, Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and campfire outdoor cooking, and he found joy in spending time outdoors. He was an enthusiastic supporter of West Virginia University sports and also enjoyed watching the WNBA Indiana Fever.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball and basketball, and those who knew him then remember his energy and love of friendly competition. Above all else, Robert treasured time with his family, and those moments together were among the greatest joys of his life.
Robert will be remembered most for his kind heart and the genuine care he showed to others. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his warmth touched the lives of many. His family and friends will forever hold close the memories of his laughter, his steady presence, and the love he shared so freely. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness, devotion, and family love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, Wednesday, April 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, April 9, from 10 until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
