Gary Thomas Viola, Sr., 72, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia.
He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on March 17, 1954, a son of the late Rinaldo Viola, Sr., and Theresa Viola Giles.
He is survived by his four children: Gary Thomas Viola, Jr. (Marleen) of Va.; Kristin Bunn of Colo.; Aaron Viola (Virginia) of Va.; and Josh Viola (Elexis) of La. as well as many grandchildren.
He is also survived by eight siblings: Joseph Gallucci of Fla.; Mark Viola (Barbara) of Va.; Edward Viola of Pa.; Eileen Khan (Subhotosh) of Del.; Louisa Bellotte (Charles) of Alaska; James Viola (Patricia) of Va. -his devoted caretaker(s) who provided him with comfort and companionship; David Viola (Tammy) of Ohio; and Elizabeth Lyons (William) of W. Va. as well as many extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rinaldo Viola, Jr., and Eugene Viola, and his sister, Donna Viola.
