George ‘Keith’ Henry, 79, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Madison Center. He was born on March 10, 1947, in Morgantown, a son of the late George and Lillian Henry.
Keith proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from September 18, 1967, to May 4, 1971, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he was employed for many years at West Virginia University, where he worked with the PRT.
Keith was an avid supporter and board member of Operation Activet since its creation in 2017. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, bookkeeping, and relaxing on his swing. During his younger years, he enjoyed coaching youth baseball, football, and basketball. He also took pleasure in dining out and shopping. A man of faith, Keith found comfort in listening to Sunday sermons from Greater Love Family Outreach. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially during their annual beach trips. Keith was a true “people person,” always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his loving sister, Dianna Spring (Denis); his nieces, Denise Spring-Mercer, Melissa Plotner (Travis), and Jennifer Spring (Chad Hawkins); and his beloved great-nieces and great-nephews: Caitlin, Aryanna, Lillian, Remington, Jorja, Lukas, Audrey, Colton, Ensley, Ivory, and Theodore. He is also survived by his special friends and chosen family: Laura (Chuck) Ghuste; Trisha (JR, Millie) Eddy; Jeremiah (Jackie, Baby CJ) Ghuste; Jessie (Allen) Duley; Koda Duley; and Chance (Paige, Waylon, Beau, Baby D) Duley, as well as many others.
The family extends a special thank you to the caregivers at the Madison Center, especially Chrissy (CC), Virginia, and Trey.
In addition to his parents and elder family members, Keith was preceded in death by a special friend and extended family member, CJ Ghuste.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home 10 S. High Street Morgantown, WV 26501 on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m., and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
