Morgantown Utility Board will be issuing a precautionary boil water advisory on Monday, affecting the following streets: 200 to 659 McCullough Street, 860 & 900 Willowdale Road and 269 Hoffman Avenue.
The advisory will be the result of a planned service outage to complete a water line tie-in. The outage is expected to last from about 9 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
Once service is restored, affected customers should boil their water before consumption until the boil water advisory is lifted. Customers are advised to bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until this advisory is lifted.
When the system recovers, additional water quality samples will be collected in the area of the outage, which require a minimum of 24 hours for analysis.
