Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) will be issuing a precautionary boil water advisory on Wednesday, March 4, affecting the following streets in Westover: all of Long Street and Tower Lane, from Holland Avenue to Monongahela Boulevard.
The advisory will be the result of a planned service outage to complete a water line tie-in. The outage is expected to start at about 9 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
Once service is restored, affected customers should boil their water before consumption until the boil water advisory is lifted. Customers are advised to bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until this advisory is lifted.
When the system recovers, additional water quality samples will be collected in the area of the outage, which require a minimum of 24 hours for analysis.
