KINGWOOD — A head-on, two-vehicle collision Saturday resulted in the death of one motorist in Kingwood.
The crash — involving a total of six occupants, two of which were trapped — occurred at the top of Oaks Hill (13500 block of South Preston Highway) in Kingwood. Several occupants were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by helicopter.
The crash closed the road for several hours.
A spokesperson for the West Virginia State Police said the Kingwood and Terra Alta volunteer fire departments responded to the collision, which occurred just before 5 p.m. KAMP and Terra Alta ambulances were also on scene. According to the spokesperson, the incident is under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
