Daniel Lee Martin

Daniel Lee Martin, 66, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in Morgantown, WV. Born on December 4, 1959, in Clarksburg, WV, he was a man of integrity, warmth, and humor that would light up any room.
Dan, an accomplished professional, served as an accountant at First National Bank before embracing technology as a network administrator at Huntington Bank. Renowned for his problem-solving skills, he was the go-to person for fixing computers and bank equipment, holding an impressive milestone in being the owner of the first personal computer at First National Bank in 1983.
Outside of work, Dan was a man who embraced life with a vigor that was contagious. An avid bowler, his competitive spirit was matched only by his penchant for laughter and camaraderie among friends and teammates. Dan was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman; he found solace in the quiet of hunting, the joy of fishing at the beach, and the simple pleasure of cutting grass on a sunny day. His farm was his refuge, a place where memories were made and traditions upheld. He also enjoyed spending his downtime snoozing on the recliner with his dogs Duchess and Zoey.
More than anything else, Dan was a family man at heart. He is survived by his wife, Lynda “Suzie” Westbrook Martin whom he adored since the 2nd grade; his daughters, Christina Marie Smith (Brian) and Lora Elizabeth Spurbeck (Joshua); his brother, Eugene Richard Martin, II; and his cherished grandchildren, Eowyn Grace Smith, Carter Daniel Smith, Rosalee Alexandria Smith, and Nolan Fitzgerald Spurbeck. He joins in peace his late parents, Eugene Richard Martin and Dorothy Lee Daniel Martin.
A reservoir of knowledge and skills, Dan was generous in teaching his family everything from fixing a leaky faucet to solving complex puzzles. His mischievous nature brought joy and laughter to those around him, and he will be fondly remembered as a loving prankster who embraced the lighter side of life.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Dan’s life at McCulla Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service commencing at 7 p.m.
Online condolences may be shared with the Martin family at www.McCulla.com, a space to reminisce and honor the memory of such a remarkable man.
