Edward E. Smith

Edward E. Smith, 62, of Bobtown, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in his home. Born in Waynesburg April 7, 1963, he was a son of Jimmy and Susan Terlesky Smith of Bobtown.
A 1981 graduate of Mapletown High School, Ed’s first job was at Bruno’s Gulf Station in Newtown. He later worked at Houze Glass in Point Marion, Pa. and in the supply house at Shannopin Mine in Bobtown, while also going to school for diesel mechanics. Upon getting his journeyman’s license, he worked as an electrician in a number of large construction sites in the Morgantown area.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melanie Presock Smith; and a sister, Anita Martin (Curtis) of Newburg.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Friday, February 27, from 2 to 5 p.m., and again Saturday, February 28, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home, with the Rev. Fr. Francis Frazer officiating. Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.
