Paul David Heironimus

Paul David Heironimus, 67, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, after a brief illness.
Paul was born in Philadelphia, June 10, 1958, to Mary E. Heironimus and the late Dr. T. W. Heironimus III.
Paul graduated from Charlottesville High School in Charlottesville, Va. in 1976. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, in English, from West Virginia University in 1984, and with a Juris Doctor degree in 1987. He practiced mostly bankruptcy and domestic relations law in the Morgantown area for over 20 years.
Music was a lifelong passion for Paul, and he enjoyed many varied genres of music, including: rock, pop, bluegrass, classical and jazz. He was blessed with an ability to play by ear and was quite gifted with a guitar. For a time, he played in a local bluegrass band that performed in local clubs, music festivals and weddings, which brought him immense joy. He also enjoyed playing at home for himself or small groups of friends.
Paul took a great interest in rescuing dogs and cats in need of a forever home, taking in many needy pets over his lifetime. His kindness saved many of God’s creatures from neglect and suffering.
He is survived by his wife and high school/college sweetheart, Leslie Ione Coles Heironimus of Morgantown; his mother, Mary E. Heironimus of Morgantown; their children: Sean Heironimus of Charleston, S.C., Logan Walker of Mechanicsville, Va. and Megan Walker (Andrew Godburn) of Mechanicville, Va. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn Heironimus (Kelly) of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, CJ Brown (Doug) of Scott’s Depot; five grandchildren: Ryan Heironimus and Jake Heironimus of Charleston, S.C., and Lucy Godburn, August Godburn and Miles Godburn of Mechanicsville, Va. He was predeceased by his father, Dr. T. W. Heironimus III.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
