Gary Carl Walden

Gary Carl Walden, 75, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, in his home.
Gary was born in Morgantown December 6, 1950, to Carl “Blackie” and Ann “Honey” Pompura Walden.
Gary graduated from Morgantown High School, where he lettered in wrestling and football. After high school, Gary attended West Virginia University, where he graduated with a degree in elementary education.
Upon graduation, Gary was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army serving four years in the West Virginia Army National Reserves.
During his first 10 years after graduation, Gary worked for Monongalia County Schools as a substitute teacher.
He owned and operated several lounges including The Triangle, The Cove, The Copper Kettle and Library of Sunnyside.
Gary and his brother, Bob Walden developed the first Riverside Community School Football league. Gary went on to coach the team many years.
Gary established Walden Rentals. Gary spent his lifetime building and remodeling houses and apartments; it was a career he truly loved.
Gary spent many holidays and weekends with his family at his second home in Ocean City, Md., and vacationing at Disney.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ann Walden; his wife, Tina; his brother, Robert “Bob” Walden; brother-in-law, Phil Caruso; and in-laws, Phil and Delores Caruso.
Gary is survived by his son, Brian and Whitney Walden of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Brooks and Brynn Walden of Morgantown; his daughter, Tiffany Walden (Adrian) of St. George, Utah; and two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas.
Gary is also survived by his sisters, Beverly and Andy Mikluscak of Omaha, Nebr., Cindy Walden of Westover, Carla and Anthony Sellaro of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Donna Walden of Westover; and six nieces and nephews.
McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gary was laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
