Nancy DeViese Gurtis

Nancy DeViese Gurtis, 78, was called home on Thursday, January 29, 2026. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.
A celebration of life will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 836 Poquoson Ave, Poquoson, VA 23662 at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, with visitation immediately following from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Visitation will continue at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3346 University Ave, Morgantown, WV 26505, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of the Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 10, with the Reverend John P. McDonough officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nancy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association to honor her parents, Jim and Dorothy DeViese, whom she selflessly cared for while they battled the devastating disease.
