Monongalia/Marion County Line — The West Virginia State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in an ongoing death investigation after a body was discovered along Interstate 79 South, just south of the Monongalia County line in Marion County.
Investigators are requesting information from anyone who traveled southbound on I-79 in this area during the afternoon or evening hours on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and may have observed anything unusual.
Authorities believe a vehicle associated with the deceased individual may have briefly pulled off onto the right shoulder of the southbound lanes during that time.
Anyone who noticed a vehicle stopped along the interstate in this area, or who may have dash-camera footage that could show such a vehicle, is asked to review their video and contact the West Virginia State Police.
All tips and information will be reviewed as part of the active investigation.
