MORGANTOWN — West Virginia is loading up the defensive line.
Coastal Carolina pass rusher Ezekiel “Zeke” Durham-Campbell has reportedly committed to the Mountaineers, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong. WVU opens the 2026 season against the Chanticleers on Sept. 5 at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Durham-Campbell is an experienced defensive lineman playing at three different schools before coming to Morgantown. He started his career at Lenoir-Rhyne University and played in 11 games, making 23 total tackles, including eight tackles for loss. Then, Durham-Campbell transferred over to Louisiana Tech, where he played for two years. He played in 11 games over the two seasons and totaled 22 tackles, 2.5 for a loss, two pass breakups and a quarterback hurry.
After two seasons with the Bulldogs, Durham-Campbell transferred up the coast to Coastal Carolina. He really broke out for the Chanticleers. He appeared in 13 games, registered 42 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Durham-Campbell’s performance over the season landed him on the All-Sun Belt third team.
Durham-Campbell hopped in the portal again and was rated as a 3-star, according to 247Sports, and ranked as the 50th pass rusher in the portal. His size and experience are what drew interest. Durham-Campbell is 6-foot-5, 247 pounds.
The Mountaineers have had a recent run of picking up defensive linemen and beefing up the defense in general. Friday, WVU added three defensive players, including two defensive backs and made a splash with Oregon pass rusher Tobi Haastrup, who was a 4-star out of high school.
With the addition of Durham-Campbell, Rich Rodriguez has scored five defensive linemen and four pass rushers. The Mountaineers needed to stack the defensive line because they lost a lot of production to the portal and graduation. WVU lost five of its leading sackers.
Durham-Campbell became the 31st transfer to join WVU out of the portal.
