Texie Marie Bright Mallow

Texie Marie Bright Mallow, 98, a resident of Laurel Mountain, Montrose, and a recent resident of Harmony of Morgantown in Morgantown, passed from this life Saturday, January 3, 2026, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She is now at peace, reunited with her husband, Harding, “her one and only, always and forever”.
Texie was born January 2, 1928 in Randolph County, a daughter of the late John Add Bright and Mary Ann Teter Bright.
On October 4, 1952, she married Harding Amos Mallow, who preceded her in death January 22, 2024.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Leon Mallow and wife Terry, Delores Mashuda and husband Ralph (deceased), and Diane Parks and husband Steven; grandson, George Mallow and wife Katie and along with great-grandson, Colter; one bonus child and niece, Patricia Barill; and one special niece, Kathy Vance.
Also preceding her in death were 10 siblings, Dessie Bright Phillips, Ethel Bright Stephens, Eva Bright Breakiron, Flossie Bright Hardy, Fannie Bright Shreve, Burley Bright, Robert Bright, Alice Bright Tharpe, Nellie Bright Shreves and Daniel Bright.
Texie attended Randolph County schools. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafting and spending time with her family and friends. She also dearly loved the Red Hat Society and spending time with her lady friends.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 8, in Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Tim Edin officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
