After adding one pair of brothers, another pair reunited in West Virginia Monday afternoon.
Wisconsin cornerback Geimere Latimer, who is the older brother of recently signed 4-star freshman running back Amari Latimer, has committed to WVU, according to On3. The Latimer brothers join the Hawkins brothers, who signed earlier in the day.
Latimer is an experienced defensive back from the Badgers. He registered a stat in 10 games in 2025. He had 23 tackles and forced a fumble. Latimer saw more action playing for Rich Rodriguez at Jacksonville State. He played for two years for Rodriguez and played in all 14 games in 2024. He had 46 tackles, three interceptions and six pass breakups.
Then, in 2023 as a freshman, Latimer made an immediate impact, playing in all 13 games and starting twice at corner. He had 10 tackles, forced a fumble and recorded a pick.
Latimer now gets to play the final season of his college career with his younger brother, hoping to make an impact. WVU needed some help in the secondary. Most of WVU’s defensive backs ran out of eligibility, so now the Mountaineers have an experienced option that knows what it’s like to play for Rodriguez.
WVU has already added a defensive back in the short time the portal’s been open. WVU added Maliek Hawkins earlier in the day. He played just one year at Oklahoma.
In just a few days, WVU has already added six transfers. Rodriguez said during National Signing Day that he wasn’t going to add too many transfers, and nowhere near the amount as last year, but that might’ve changed with all the departures in the past couple of weeks.
WVU’s six portal additions rank at No. 30 in the nation and 10th in the Big 12, according to 247Sports.
