Jeanne L. Stoughton, 70, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Sundale Rehabilitation and Long Term Care.
She was born July 29, 1955, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Stanley and Helen Smith Verney.
Jeanne was an actively engaged member of Greater Love Family Outreach Ministry and particularly enjoyed her church group.
She spent her entire career as a Registered Nurse, mostly at Mon Health Medical Center.
In her free time, she enjoyed hiking, cooking, her sewing friends and spending time with her loving family.
Jeanne is survived by son, Matt Cindric, M.D.; stepchildren, Sean Stoughton and his wife, Leslie and Emily Jean Stoughton Kurth and her husband, Rob; grandchildren: Caroline, Robby, Jack, Tommy, Adam and Evan; siblings: Tom Verney (Jackie), Robert Verney (Mary Ann) and Donald Verney (Joann); and niece and nephews: Ben, Danielle, Brian and David.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Wade B. Stoughton, M.D.; and sister, Marilyn Raho.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will be provided.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, January 16. Visitation will continue at Greater Love Family Outreach Ministries, 200 Frederick Lane, Morgantown, from 10 until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
