David Lynn Parrish, 77, of Star City, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in his residence following an extended illness.
David was born May 27, 1948 in Fairmont, a son of the late Willis Lyle and Betty Jean McInturff Parrish.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Cynthia Parrish; his children, Joe Parrish and significant other Ondrea Smith of Fairmont, Jonathan Parrish and partner Trista King of Fairmont, Marianne Mike and companion Lucien Schroyer of Morgantown, and Kevin McHenry and wife Kat of Columbus, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Brooklyn, Matthew and Skylar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.
David was a devoted family man and would do anything for them. He was proudest of his military service. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He completed three tours in Vietnam and when his service was completed, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves. He then completed his military journey with the Army National Guard.
Friends may join the family to honor David’s life and legacy in Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Avenue, Westover, Friday, December 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. At the conclusion of the visitation, a funeral procession will leave for West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, where a graveside committal service with Full Military Honors accorded will be held.
