Greg Nair

Greg Nair, 62, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 4, 2025, in Ruby Memorial Hospital after his short battle with cancer.
At a very young age, Greg could be found in his yard with a wiffle bat in hand playing ball with his brother. Many hours were spent wearing a dirt spot in the grass at home plate. Greg grew up on the field at a young age leading to a high school career and later a career coaching youth. His love of sports never faltered and through his adulthood he continued to spend much of his time on the baseball field coaching his son, and finally his grandson. Greg could also be found on the basketball court, where he coached his daughter for a number of seasons. He was someone that people looked up to and respected; he was a wonderful role model to all the lives he touched.
Greg was an upstanding member of the community, loved by many, and well respected in his field of work.
His favorite hobby was watching his favorite sports teams – the Mountaineers, the Mariners, and the Green Bay Packers. Greg could be found on football weekends wearing his favorite Packers gear and was even a partial owner of the team.
Greg was a man who knew what having a family was all about. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and an amazing “Pops” to all of his grandchildren. He was always there for his family with a calmness that made any situation seem okay.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beth Nair. Greg and Beth were high school sweethearts and the epitome of what a loving marriage is.
He is also survived by family members including his parents, Sharen and Gary Nair; his brother, Terry Nair (Lisa and nephew Ryen); children, Meagan Dalton (Michael), Zach Nair (Brandy), Molly Williams (Cody); grandchildren, Archer and Leo Mason, Oaklee Nair, and Carter and Shia Williams.
Friends and family will be received in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Tuesday, December 9, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday, December 10, from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating.
Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
