MORGANTOWN – Maddox Twigg saw one of his dreams come true on Friday when he knelt the ball to secure the 2025 Class AAAA state championship for Morgantown High against Martinsburg last Friday.
Monday may have been another dream-come-true for Twigg, a 6-2, 205-pound sophomore, as he was given his fourth Division-I offer by Coach Rich Rodriguez and WVU.
This comes one day after picking up his third offer from Jacksonville State, where Rodriguez last coached before heading back to WVU.
Twigg finished the 2025 state championship game on Friday with 316 total yards and four touchdowns offensively, adding ten tackles as a defensive back to lead the MHS defense.
His final stats for his sophomore season were 125 of 189 passing for 2,227 yards and 26 touchdowns. Twigg also had 144 carries for 1,073 yards and 18 touchdowns, including a pick-6 touchdown on defense. He accounted for 45 touchdowns this season (19 in the playoffs alone).
Twigg currently holds offers from Marshall, Kent State, Jacksonville State, and WVU.
