Clay-Battelle’s Caleb Hall surpasses 1,000 yards rushing for 2025

BLACKSVILLE – Clay-Battelle sophomore running back Caleb Hall became the latest to join the 1,000-yard club for the Cee-Bees as he surpassed the mark in the opening round of the Class A playoffs last weekend against No. 14 Ritchie County in a 44-8 victory.

Hall ran for 165 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown against the Rebels on Saturday afternoon, upping his 2025 total to 1,086 yards for the campaign.

Hall is the first C-B player to achieve the feat since Carson Shriver and Zac Hall both did so in 2022.

“My main goal this season was to simply win games and host a playoff game,” Hall said. “Coming into the season, I wasn’t thinking about my individual stats at all whatsoever. I just wanted to help my team get as many wins as possible.”

It’s safe to say Hall has accomplished his goals as the Cee-Bees enter the quarterfinals of the Class A playoffs with a 10-1 record and are set to host their second game in as many weeks in the postseason on Saturday evening against No. 11 Wirt County.

Only a sophomore, Hall is still growing physically and says that’s been a huge factor in his success on the ground this season.

“The weight room has definitely made a difference for me,” he said. “It seems like every year the competition gets tougher and guys are getting bigger. I want to make sure I’m ready to face anyone and run as hard as I can.”

This season has already been program-changing for the Cee-Bees, and still has room to be even more special. Hall says he’s doing all he can to hold onto the experiences and learn from the lessons he’s being taught.

“At the end of the day, you win as a team and you lose as a team,” Hall said. “Working together is crucial when it comes to success in team sports.”

Togetherness is one of the Cee-Bees’ biggest strengths, according to Hall.

“No matter who has the ball, our line and receivers work so hard for us,” Hall said. “We wouldn’t be where we are right now without the willingness of others to sacrifice for their brothers. As long as we stick together, I truly feel we can do anything and win against anyone.”
