Three Morgantown High seniors commit to continue careers at the Division I level on Signing Day

MORGANTOWN – Six Morgantown High School athletes signed their names for their commitment to continue their academic and athletic careers after graduation in the spring.

Patrick Aucremanne (Davis and Elkins, lacrosse), Amelia White (Lock Haven, lacrosse), Kira Smith (Potomac State, softball), Camdyn Smith (Old Dominion, soccer), Ella Miller (Eastern Michigan, soccer), and Maddie Wisman (Robert Morris, softball) all secured their futures on Friday at MHS.

Three of those six (Camdyn Smith, Miller, and Wisman) inked their names for Division I programs after impressive careers at MHS.

Camdyn Smith is a state champion goalkeeper for the MHS girls’ soccer team and has been the starter on the team since her freshman season. She says she had a couple of other schools as options, but that ODU was the perfect fit in the end.

“I love everything about the program there,” Smith said. “The coaches and environment were ideal for me, and I’m very excited for the opportunity to play at the highest level of college soccer. It’s what I’ve dreamed of doing since I started playing.”

Ella Miller earned first-team all-state honors two years in a row for the Mohigans, scoring 21 goals as a junior in 2024 and 26 this season as a senior.

Miller says Eastern Michigan was one of the first schools to recruit her.

“The recruiting window opens June 15th after sophomore year, and they reached out to me that day,” Miller said. “So the program has always been there with me and has been watching me grow. That spoke volumes to me for a school like that to show so much time and effort toward my recruitment.”

Miller and Smith are two of three players on the 2025 MHS girls soccer roster who are committed to a D-I program, as junior Gabbie Brown announced her plans to attend Syracuse after graduation.

MHS softball (and recent 2025 state champion with the MHS volleyball team) all-state player Maddie Wisman joined Miller and Smith in signing with D-I programs, as she will attend and play for Robert Morris in Pittsburgh.

Wisman has been one of the most consistent players in the state on all sides of the ball for MHS as a pitcher, hitter, and fielder, and has been named to the all-state first-team multiple seasons in a row. She batted .380 with 30 hits and 19 RBI in 2025 while going 14-6 in the circle with a 1.59 ERA for the 2025 OVAC champions.

Wisman says RMU has recruited her as a pitcher but will allow her to earn a spot in the lineup from day one.

“Being in the MHS program for the past three years and going into this year, I’m glad to have the experience of doing a little bit of everything,” Wisman said. “The recruiting process is also a lot at times, so I’m glad to have made my decision and lift that weight off my shoulders.”
