Robert Allen Farley, Sr.

Robert Allen Farley, Sr., affectionately known as Bob, left this world Monday, October 13, 2025, in Morgantown. His journey began in the small town of Cassville, New Hill Community, May 22, 1936, and it was there that he learned the values of hard work, dedication and family, which would guide him throughout his life.
Bob lived a full life alongside his beloved wife of 71 years, Kathryn Jean Madden Farley. Together, they built a family legacy that will forever resonate with love and cherished memories.
His legacy is carried on by his son, Mark Farley of Maidsville; his grandchildren, Caitland Farley (George), and Josh Jones; and his great-granddaughter, Lily Kay Jones. Bob was a caring figure to his daughter-in-law, Marleen Hunt; and held a special place in the heart for his sister-in-law, Shirley Sirockman.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ronal “Mick” Farley and Evelyn “Hap” Loring Farley; his son, Robert Farley, Jr.; his granddaughter, Shannon Jones; daughter-in-law, Debbie Farley; and sister, Viola “Sis” Hare. Each of them held an important place in Bob’s heart, and their memories were treasured until his final days.
Bob’s professional life was distinguished by a remarkable 38 years of service with a telephone company.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob found solace and joy in the bounties of nature. He enjoyed turkey hunting, the excitement of fishing, and the tranquility of camping. These passions spanned the course of his life and brought him innumerable moments of happiness and contemplation.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Sundale Nursing Home and WV Caring Hospice for all of the care given to Bob and his family in their time of need.
Family and friends are invited to gather in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 17. Visitation will continue at McCulla Funeral Home Saturday, October 18, from 10 until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
