Robert Blair “Bob” Stankos, Sr., 86, of Morgantown, passed away early Sunday morning, October 5, 2025, in Sundale Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Born March 20, 1939, in Morgantown, Bob was a son of the late Charles and Madeline Messenger Stankos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ida Kay Moreland Stankos; his two children, Bob and wife Libbie Stankos, and Cindy Stankos, all of Morgantown; a granddaughter, Jessica and husband Nathan Davis of Scott Depot; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Gianna Davis; and his two siblings, Joseph Stankos of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Marian Turner of Morgantown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Thomas “Tiny”, Jack, and Ernie Stankos; and a sister, Elaine Frum.
Bob was a graduate of Morgantown High School. He worked as a sales associate for Chittum’s Car Sales, as well as Larry Smith and Premier.
He was an avid golfer, and a member of Mountaineer Golf Course. Bob was also a member of Morgantown BPOE Elks Lodge 411.
At his request, all services are private for his immediate family.
