Fairmont Police looking for man involved in shooting

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Police Department is looking for a man
involved in a shooting that occurred early Monday.

The suspect is Antonio Marquise Evans, a 29-year-old Black male. He’s 6’2” tall,
190 pounds.

Police said Evans had an exchange of gunfire with another man on Spence Street, and
Evans fled the area with a rifle. He was last seen in the Jackson Addition area of
Fairmont.

Evans is a convicted felon and should be considered dangerous.
Another individual involved in the shooting was struck by gunfire and is receiving
treatment at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.
According to investigators, this was a targeted shooting and was not random.
