Joseph A. Eakin

Joseph A. Eakin, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, August 29, 2025, at Courtland Acres in Thomas. He was born February 9, 1934.
Joseph proudly served 21 years in the United States Air Force before retiring.
He later became the caretaker at Arnold Farm on South Branch, where he could often be found hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. He also loved woodworking and took great pride in working with his hands.
He was married to Janet Shoemaker Eakin for over 50 years until her passing in September 2023. Together, they shared a full and loving life, raising 10 children.
Joseph is survived by his 10 children, 29 grandchildren, 40 great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory and mourn his passing.
In accordance with his wishes, Joseph donated his body to science. There are no services at this time.
