Sandra Lee Waters, 78, of Morgantown, died unexpectedly in her home Sunday, August 17, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Sandra was a graduate of Citizens General Hospital as a registered nurse and West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Her nursing career spanned over 30 years and included positions at the Maternal and Infant Care Clinic, director of nursing at Madison House, charge nurse at Chestnut Ridge Hospital and neuro surgical nurse at WVU Hospital. While in Germany, she served military families at the Langstuhl Regional Medical Center.
She enjoyed traveling, was a member of the Transplant Recipients International Organization, and will always be remembered for the care and compassion shown to her patients and “furry friends.”
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Gary Waters; her son, Thomas Waters (Cathy); and grandchildren, Anna, Michael and Christopher; brother-in- law, Alan Waters (Lu); sister-in-law, Karen Paulin (Mike); special cousin, Bonnie Post (Bob); and her furry Miniature Schnauzer companion, Bodhi.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
A private service will be held at a later date.
