Willard James Thomas Jr., 63, of Bretz, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in the WV Caring Hospice Center in Elkins.
He was born July 9, 1962, in Ravenna, Ohio, a son of the late Willard James Thomas Sr. and Mary Madeline Sloop Thomas.
He was a loving father, brother and friend. Willie loved to fish, work on anything and everything, and be around family and friends.
Willard is survived by three daughters: April Thomas and companion Greg Craddock of Morgantown, Tina and Michael Turner of Reedsville, Stephanie Thomas of Masontown; one son, Willard James Thomas III of Parkersburg; three stepchildren, Kenneth Doman Jr. and companion Amber Murray of Morgantown, Rachel and Donald Cress of Morgantown, and Christopher and Sydney Turner of Fairmont; three sisters, Bonnie and Nick Stoffels of Texas, Mary and Ray Hash of Valley Point, and Cindy and Paul Miller Jr. of Bretz; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Thomas and Joseph Thomas; and his cousin, who was like a brother to him, Wayne Thomas.
To honor his wishes, Field Funeral Home in Masontown will provide compassionate and professional cremation services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
