Ann Leslie Hoover Baker, age 66, passed away peacefully at her home in Canonsburg, Pa., on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Charleston, WV, and grew up in St. Albans, WV, where she graduated from St. Albans High School.
Ann received a BA degree in Journalism and an MS in Industrial and Labor Relations from West Virginia University. She worked for the American Lung Association in Human Resources before joining the then-Mobay Corporation as Supervisor of Employment and Benefits. She retired as Bayer Corporation’s Director of Human Resources in 2014.
Ann is survived by her husband of 45 years, Warren Baker; stepsisters Terri (Robbie) Spears and Kathy (Doug) Smolder, all of Charleston, WV, sister-In-Law Janet Watkins of Atlanta, GA; nephews Brandon and Patrick; and nieces Brianna, Emily and Whitney.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2823 Washington Road, McMurray, Pa.
On Wednesday, July 16, homegoing services will be held at 1 p.m. at Greater Love Family Outreach Ministries, 200 Fredrick Lane, Morgantown, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
