Francis Daye Hupp

Francis “Frank” Daye Hupp, 79, of Westover, passed away Tuesday morning, July 1, 2025, in WVU Medicine – JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following an extended illness.
Born December 11, 1945, in Fairmont, Frank was a son of the late Herbert Daye Hupp, and the late Naoma Geraldine “Gerry” Matlick.
Frank was a graduate of the Class of 1963 at Grafton High School.

Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and actively served in Germany.
He worked in numerous positions in construction design and management including with the WV Department of Highways, the WV Board of Regents, and several engineering firms. His final 23 years before retirement were with Engineering Support at the US DOE NETL facility.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Junior” Johnson, David Johnson, and Henry Johnson; as well as a sister, Connie Hupp.
Survivors include his partner in life, Nancy Snider of Morgantown; his three daughters, Rhonda Hupp, Sherri Carper Hupp and spouse Lindsey, and Franki Hupp, all of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Samantha Ballard of Morgantown, Todd Ballard of Madison, and Jordan Hupp of Morgantown; his great- grandchildren, Sophia Ballard of Morgantown, and Blake and Tucker Ballard, both of Madison; a sister, Sue Hupp of Fairmont; and a brother, Herbert Hupp of Fairmont.
In accordance with Frank’s request, there will be no formal funeral or memorial services held, and he will be laid to rest at a later time, with Full Military Honors, at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
