Charles Luther Dodge

Charles Luther Dodge, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Monday afternoon, June 23, 2025, in WVU Medicine – JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Charles was born in Fairmont, to Clarence Eugene and Myrtle Ellen Lee Dever Dodge.
He attended Grafton High School before studying electronics, math, and physical sciences at Fairmont State University, the University of Vermont, and Frostburg State University.
His career as an electronics technician spanned positions in academia, broadcast communications, technology corporations, telecommunications, hospitals, and a military depot.
Charles was generous with his time helping others in volunteer and paid positions, most recently at Senior Mons in Morgantown. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast who shared many wonderful times with friends and family, road tripping, camping, hiking, fishing, picnicking, and gardening. He had a lifelong passion for the natural world around us, as well as learning, history, genealogy, preserving family legacies, and sustaining family bonds among living family members.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bunnie Ann Royals Dodge; and his sister, Katherine Zoe Dodge Shaffer.
He is survived by his sisters, Alice LeeDodge) Szonyi and Clara Virginia Dodge Robison; the mother of his children, Theresa Elaine Martin Dodge; his daughters, Mary Dodge Williams and husband Paul Williams, and Nancy Jane Dodge; his son, Martin Eugene Dodge and wife Spring Dodge; his grandson, Bryan Maheu and fiancee Stephanie Mills; his granddaughters, Gretchen Williams Sepulveda and husband John Sepulveda, Leni (Madelyn) Williams; his great-granddaughters, Peyton Maheu and Avery Maheu; great-grandson, Coyote Sepulveda; cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may join the family to honor Charles’ life and legacy in Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Avenue, Westover, (304) 292-9494, from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 13, followed by his Celebration of Life service from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
