Joyce Elaine Galloway, 78, of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her residence. The daughter of the late William Cyrus Shaffer and Edna Faye Deal Shaffer, she was born September 14, 1946, in Hazelton, W.Va.
Joyce loved life, music, socializing, working on puzzles and bird watching. For several years, she had been employed as a nurse’s assistant.
She is survived by a son and his spouse, Joseph D. Galloway and Pamila; three grandchildren: Tabitha Galloway Shay and her spouse, Frederick, Jennifer Galloway and James Galloway of Bruceton Mills; and two great-grandsons, Christian and Waylon Galloway.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sisters: Dorothy Fike, Betty Casteel, Grace Lewis, Mary Willis and Charlotte Shaffer: her brothers: Junior, Jackson and Glen Shaffer; and her former husband, Larry Galloway.
A memorial service for Joyce is planned for September 14, 2025.
