Frances “Lynn” Varner, 76, of Mt. Morris, Pa., passed away Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born March 10, 1949, in Cascade, Lynn was a daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah Patton Harmon.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Raymond Clark “Skieze” Varner, whom she married December 31, 1966; two daughters, Rhonda and husband, Gary Sine who reside in Labelle, Pa., and Rochelle “Shelly” Varner at home; two grandchildren, Dylan Varner and Rhiannon Sine, who also reside Labelle, Pa.; one sister, Brenda Hardesty of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Dorothy Miller, Patty Groves, Bob Harmon and Romie Harman.
Lynn loved bird watching. She was formerly employed as a pastry chef at West Virginia University and as a cook at the former Morgan Manor
Nursing Home.
Friends may join the family to honor Lynn’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover, 304-292-9494, from 2 until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 19. Following the funeral service, and in accordance with her requests, Lynn will be cremated.
