George Ronald Utt

George Ronald “Ron” Utt, 55, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, after a brief illness.
Ron was born September 27, 1969, in Morgantown, a son of Selma Utt and the late George Raymond Utt.
Ron was an avid fisherman, huntsman and musician. He recently found his dream job at Sodexo Services, providing meals for West Virginia University athletes. He met many great people there in his short time of employment.
In addition to his mother, Ron is survived by his sister, Darcia Smith and husband John; his sister, Robin Utt; nieces, Paige and Tori Smith; and a tight group of friends, who were also his family.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to all of his friends who helped Ron not just in the past few months, but over a lifetime. A special thanks goes to Ron’s loyal friend, Alexa Hanley for always being there for him.
In addition to his father, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Mae Utt; his grandparents, George O. and Dorothy Utt, Bertha and Zella Metz; and close cousin, Robert Raber.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
A memorial visitation will be held in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, from 2 until the time of the Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21.
