Anita R. Cooke

Anita R. Cooke, 74, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Madison Center, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Waynesburg, Pa. on October 30, 1950, a daughter of the late Donald L. and Helen Perkosky Griffin.
A 1968 graduate of Mapletown High School, she also attended the Morgantown Business College. Anita initially worked as a secretary for the Electrical Engineering Department of WVU, where she met her husband, and later as a medical secretary and transcriptionist for several medical offices in the Morgantown area.
She loved all her pets over the years, dogs and cats, and enjoyed working in her garden.
Anita had a wonderful sense of humor, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving is her faithful and loving husband of 41 years, John W. Cooke; two step-children, Matthew Cooke of Christiana, Tenn. and Kelly Pulice of Weirton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Griffin, Jr.
There will be no public services. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion.
