Charles E. Sicina

Charles E. Sicina, 85, of Point Marion, Pa., died Sunday, May 11, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Born in Uniontown, Pa., February 18, 1940, he was a son of the late Marguerite and Tony Yanik.
A graduate of South Union Township High School, Chuck retired after 33 years with the Physics Department of West Virginia University, where he was a lab instrument specialist. Before that, he had worked for Clar-Mac Sales in Point Marion. Chuck could fix or repair just about anything.
He was very active in the Point Marion community, having served for many years with the volunteer fire department and as a paramedic in the Ambulance Corps. Chuck was a member of the F.O.E. #1932, the former Point Marion Lions Club, and the Free & Accepted Masons Valley Lodge 459 in Masontown, Pa. He was also active in the Fayette County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Fire Warden Association.
In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, and playing his bass guitar with several groups in the local area.
His wife of 62 years, Bonnie Sicina, passed away May 22, 2024. Also deceased is a son, Christopher C. Sicina, November 22, 2021.
Surviving are his son, Wesley Sicina and wife Danielle of Smithfield, Pa.; two granddaughters, Kylie Yanowsky and husband Richard, and Payton Sicina; two great- granddaughters, Leikan and Leila Yanowsky; and a brother, Ronald Sicina and wife Sallie Ann of Winslow, Maine.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion. A reception for family and friends will be held in the fire department social hall during the visitation break. Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department services will be held at 6 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by Masonic services at 7 p.m., and a brief funeral service at 8 p.m., with the Rev. French Jenkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Point Marion Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 1 Cheat Street, Point Marion, PA 15474.
