Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a death investigation following the discovery of a body off Interstate 68.
At about 12:18 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report of a body located in the shoulder area on the westbound side of Interstate 68, near Exit 1 University Avenue.
The remains have been identified as those of Aaron S. Monette, 56, of New York. The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation.
His body has been transported to the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy and further examination.
At this time, all possibilities are being thoroughly investigated as part of standard procedure.
