Dorothy Mae Reckart

Dorothy Mae Reckart 90, of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at her home. The daughter of the late Samuel Wise and Della E. Snyder Wise Rumzik, she was born March 6, 1935, in Palmer, Pa.
Dorothy was a member of the Bruceton United Methodist Church. She and her husband moved back to Bruceton Mills from Streetsboro, Ohio, after they retired. She enjoyed her family and working in her greenhouse, gardening and quilting.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Ingram; two sons, Herbert G. Reckart, Jr. of Bruceton Mills, and John H. Reckart and companion, Donna Duncan, of Mantua, Ohio; three grandchildren: James D Ingram of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Thomas J. Jacobs of Theresa, N.Y., and Makayla L. Jacobs and her companion, Jesse Patterson, of Cuyahoga Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins: and a sister-in-law, Pam Wise.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert G. Reckart, Sr.; a son, Joseph R. Reckart; five brothers, Dewey, Ellis, John, Samuel and his wife, Helen, and Woodrow K. Wise; and a sister, Betty Sajan.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and her nurses and Aids.
A memorial service for Dorothy is being planned during the family reunion July 12, 2025, at 1 p.m, at the family homestead in Bruceton Mills, W.Va.
