Earl Newbraugh, Jr. passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, after years of battling multiple different cancers. He was born June 21, 1943.
He was a proud coal miner for many years. He loved to talk to everyone any place he went.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Jo Uphold Newbraugh (1993); his son, Joseph Leon Newbraugh (2023); brothers, Harry “Butch” Newbraugh (2002) and Mike Newbraugh (2020); and his sister, Carol Smallwood (2015).

Earl wanted to thank everyone he knew including the following: the Physician Office Center (POC) ambassadors James, Ida and Jonas; POC Pharmacy, Traci and the entire staff; his cancer doctor, Dr. Auber; the Town Center Phlebotomy drawing station – Michelle Lichvar, Kota Burgess and the rest of the great staff, and the ambassador there, David Friend; and his niece, Stacy Hostuttler for all of her care and support.
He also wanted to thank the people he called the best friends and neighbors anyone could ask for, Robert Glover and Nancy Smith.
As per his final wishes, there will be no service
or memorial.
In place of flowers, anyone who wanted to show their love of Earl can send donations to his family. Also, a Go Fund Me account will be set up, in his honor, in the next two weeks.
Those wanting more information, may contact his son, Jay or email to jayman10@comcast.net and he’ll get back to you. Many thanks to all of you! Earl will miss you all as much as you will miss him.
