William “Bill” Hughes Jr., of Vienna, passed away, in his home, Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was born June 19, 1952, a son of the late William Hughes Sr. and Mary Lou Rancjik Hughes.
Bill attended UHS, enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years and then attended college on the GI Bill to study accounting.
Bill worked for the government until his retirement.
Bill is survived by his two sisters, Betty Jean Canfield and Kim L. Hughes; three nieces, Tiffany (Jason) Goddard, Stephanie (Josh) Boley, and Brittany (Shawn) Canfield; two great- nieces, Lily Rife and Amber Boley; and great- nephew, John C.W. Rife.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his brother-in-law, Melvin Canfield.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, in Westover United Methodist Church.
