David Scott Bracken, 81, of Morgantown, went home to his Lord and Savior Monday, March 31, 2025. He was born April 8, 1943, in Morgantown, to the late Pauline and Oliver Scott Bracken.
Dave was a proud Marine who served at Camp Legune.
After serving his country, he went to work for Consolidation Coal Company and became a foreman and worked for 31 years.
Dave was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors, he loved taking cruises with his wife, Janie and friends.
Dave is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janie Bracken; children, David Scott Bracken II and wife Debra, Kevin Bracken and companion Victoria Calvert, Rachel Holmes and husband Sam, Shannon Dille and husband Dave, Jimmy Feathers and wife Dianna; along with eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Headlee, Jean Johns and Virginia “Ginger” Stiles; and his grandson, Justin Holmes.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Morgantown Health Care Center, especially Eve, Kim, Larry, Kasey, Shannon and Emily, for all of their love and support shown to David and his family; their staff is truly amazing.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
