David Richard Sines, Sr., 81, of Terra Alta, peacefully passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, in Kingwood Healthcare, with his loving wife and children by his side.
He was born April 7, 1943, in Terra Alta, a son of the late Harry Richard and Virginia Ruth Howell Sines.
On September 7, 1963, in Crellin, Md., David married the love of his life, Joan Louise Thomas Sines.
He was a very hard worker. He built his own home in 1977.
He was employed as the parts manager at Preston Motors from 1968-1977, then worked at J&J Ford from 1977-1984, and lastly at Les Car Trucking from 1985 until his retirement at 63 years old in 2006. After retirement, he kept doing what he loved and had a small engine repair shop at his home.
David enjoyed hunting and looking at lighthouses. He was Methodist by faith, attending the Trinity United Methodist Church in Terra Alta.
David loved his whole family; he was a good husband, father and brother. David was a great man, who will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Louise Thomas Sines; his son, David Richard Sines, Jr. and wife, Christi; daughter, Tracie Ruth Kekic and husband, Jerry; sister, Diana R. Golliday and husband, Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Garfield Sines and James Arthur Sines, Sr.
Friends may call at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 1002 E. State Avenue, Terra Alta, WV 26764, from 1 until the 3 p.m. time of service Friday, April 4, with Pastor Eric Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
