Paul Robert Keane, 73, of Morgantown, died Friday, January 31, 2025, in Pittsburgh. For at least the last eight years of his life, he suffered from a rare, devastating and fatal disease, corticobasal degeneration with supranuclear palsy.
Paul was born April 16, 1950, in Pittsburgh, the middle child of Hyacinthe Baldauff and Michael Joseph Keane Sr. He grew up in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Greentree and graduated from Bishop Canevin High School. He earned graduate degrees from University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University.
He spent most of his career in Morgantown as a writer and editor at The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He was an accomplished writer of periodical articles as well as screen plays.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Caroline Keane of Philadelphia and Deirdre Keane of Pittsburgh; his brother, Michael (Molly) Keane of Morgantown; his sister, Marilyn Keane of Pittsburgh; his nieces: Eileen Keane of New York City; Jennifer Dombroskie of State College, Pa.; Ashley Keane of Davis; and nephew, Erik Keane of South Charleston; as well as his long-time good friend and colleague, Linda Morton.
