Bobby E. Roberts, 48, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born September 23, 1976, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., he was a beloved son of Robert E. Roberts and Tressea C. Roberts. Bobby spent his early years in Minot, N.D., and Jonesville, Va., before his family settled in
Morgantown.
A graduate of Morgantown High School in June 1994, Bobby pursued higher education with great passion. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997 from West Virginia University followed by a Masters in Labor Relations in 1998. Later, he achieved a degree in Philosophy from UNC Greensboro in 2004. He then achieved a Masters of Divinity in 2018.
A proud Freemason and an avid wrestling fan, Bobby also found joy in running from a young age with track and field in high school, then going on to 5ks and 10ks, which culminated in completing the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. October 29, 2005.
Known to many as Pastor Bob, Bobby dedicated his life to ministry and community service. He volunteered extensively, including prison ministry work that reflected his deep compassion for others. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels when he was in college as well as food pantries with the help of his congregation.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Madelaine Shultz of Fairmont; his younger sister, Rebecca Roberts; his parents; mother-in-law, Veronica (Jerry) Eagle; father- in-law Donley (Jeanette) Shultz; as well as three aunts, two uncles, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by two aunts; and his cherished cats, Bertrand Russell “Bert” and Søren Kierkegaard “Kiki”.

Bobby’s life was one of service, learning, and love. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
