Michael James Fox, known affectionately to all as Mike, lived a life marked by warmth and laughter. Born in Morgantown on July 21, 1960, in the comforting embrace of Robert Fox and Jeannine Brown Fox, he carried the kind spirit of his hometown throughout his life until his peaceful passing on May 22, 2024, in the same beloved town.
A proud graduate of University High School, Mike cultivated lifelong friendships and an admirable sense of community. His dedication to social bonds was evident through his previous involvement with Moose Lodge #264, where his humor and kindness lit up the room. He also spent a great deal of time at the Mason Jar, socializing with anyone who entered.
Mike cherished family above all. His sisters, Luella Maxwell (David), of Morgantown and Christine Varner, of Cassville, along with his nieces and nephews — Brian, Kelly, Jimmy and Patricia — and his special friend, Kristen Winters, will carry the legacy of his love and jovial spirit. With Shrek, his beloved cat, by his side, Mike exemplified a life well-lived, full of joy and genuine connections.
Visitation will be held at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 24. Following the visitation, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation service.
