he WOW! Factory, a paint-your-own pottery, mosaic, glass-fusing and clay hand-building studio on University Avenue in Star City, celebrates 16 years in business this month with a month-long Sweet 16 party.
All month, customers will enjoy an especially festive
atmosphere and complimentary snacks such as kettle corn from Almost Heaven Kettle Corn
and mini cupcakes from The
Cupcakerie Café & Frose. Specials and giveaways will also be a part of this month-long celebration.
For every $16 spent, customers will receive an entry to win a $160 gift card to The WOW! Factory with the winning name to be drawn on May 31 and announced via Facebook and Instagram. Customers will also have the opportunity to select a key that could unlock a mystery prize box. Prizes can include day-of-purchase discounts, a free 4-inch tile, a week of Summer Art Camp or a free birthday party package.
“It’s been a pleasure to provide a fun, creative outlet to those of all ages in Morgantown and the surrounding area for the past 16 years. When we opened, I can honestly say that we couldn’t even imagine being here right now. Our customers mean everything to us and supported us even through COVID times. We are extremely grateful for the community’s support,” said co-owner Joanne Watson.
The WOW! Factory opened its doors in
May 2009, offering pottery painting, clay hand-building, mosaics and glass-fusing on a walk-in basis
to customers. Since then,
studio offerings have expanded to include birthday parties, summer camps, instructional and team building workshops, field trips and guided canvas painting classes.
The studio space itself has expanded to include two private event rooms and a large main studio space full of inspiration.
The WOW! Factory hours for the month of May are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday and closed Mondays. Special Memorial Day weekend hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. May 25 and closed May 26-27 for the holiday weekend. For more information about The Wow!
